CCOP Report
Boo for that shit. Finals week took its toll, and I had 30 miles between this race and the Norfolk crit, and I definitely felt it. Came in on the tail of the pack for 16th... never saw the front of this race. I've got two papers half-done, and an exam Wednesday, and then it's time to actually ride that thing. (Yes that's my frame.) I guess my next race will be either the Amphibious Assault (boring) or the Cape Fear Road Race (sounds bad-ass.) Either way, anythings got to be better than a half-hour race with no legs.

City Center at Oyster Point
City Center Crit is coming up Sunday... this one's going to be very casual for me, because I haven't been riding all week due to finals and the Senior Show... just gonna get my upgrade points and go home. Unless, that is, the stars line up just right and I end up in something good. Then it might be time to bust out tha sprinter'z asz.

Conte's Cycling Classic
was Belgian. Lots of wind, some cobbles, and almost rain during the Cat 5. I made a possibly stupid move.... buried myself to get Chris Chapman up to the break, then fell off. Chris did get 2nd behind JRVS' Dave Erickson, but I wonder if my effort was wasted-- I feel like Chris could have got up there himself, and still got second. Oh well.
After dropping back, I went waaay back, and started marshalling stragglers. It's like nobody knows what a paceline is... two Fat Frogs guys couldn't master the concept. I had to slave and slave to keep everyone in a line... and of course at the last lap the FF guys wouldn't pull. The first guy tried to fly off into the last corner, and the second guy tried to come around me on the finishing straight. No dice, dudes.
So I finished with an unimpressive 13th place. Boo for that, next time I'm jumping in the first breakaway. Who says breaks don't work in crits? Probably the suckers that were off the back with me.
